Buccal massage is performed both externally and internally.
During the treatment, gloved fingers are gently placed inside the mouth, allowing the deeper muscles of the cheeks, jaw and lower face to be accessed directly while simultaneously working the outside of the face.
This approach allows tension to be released more effectively than external massage alone.
If you hold significant tension within the face or jaw, certain areas may feel slightly uncomfortable or tender as they are worked. However, this is temporary and most clients describe the treatment as incredibly relieving once the muscles begin to release.
Following treatment, the face often feels lighter, less restricted and more relaxed, with many clients noticing improved definition through the jawline and cheeks, along with a reduction in facial tension and puffiness.
-
Initially, treatments are recommended once per week for six weeks, allowing the muscles to release, rebalance and respond more effectively.
Following this initial course, monthly maintenance treatments are typically recommended to help prevent tension from rebuilding and maintain long-term results.
Your treatment plan will always be tailored to your individual needs and how your facial muscles respond throughout the course of treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Some of the key muscles that influence facial tension and structure cannot be fully accessed from the outside.
Working internally allows these muscles to be treated more precisely, which is why the results are often more noticeable compared to external massage alone.
-
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons clients choose buccal massage.
Working directly with the jaw muscles helps release built-up tension, which can improve both comfort and how the lower face looks.

This depends on your goals.
Some clients have it occasionally for release, while others include it more regularly to maintain facial tone and structure.
-
The treatment is not designed to be painful.
Some areas may feel more intense where tension is present, but most clients find it deeply relieving as the muscles begin to release.
This treatment works to encourage that movement, helping reduce puffiness and restore a more defined appearance.

Yes — changes are usually visible immediately, particularly in reduced tension and improved definition through the jawline and mid-face.

While many sculpting facials work externally, buccal massage also works from inside the mouth.
This allows deeper access to the muscles that influence facial tension and structure, making the treatment more effective for areas that do not respond as well to external techniques alone.
